Gilster-Mary Lee recently participated in the Power Moves Commercial & Industrial Rebate Program receiving over $20,000 in energy efficiency refunds from Citizens Electric Corporation. The private label, contract and food service manufacturer realized potential for energy efficiency and opted to replace over 190 metal halide fixtures, and nearly 50 fluorescent fixtures. Savings fell under the Prescriptive Retrofit Rebates program, a program provided through Citizens Electric Corporation and Wabash Valley Power Alliance. All fixtures were upgraded to high-bay LED lights with occupancy sensors. The new lighting system provides improved lighting with the additional flexibility of automatic control in unoccupied areas. Utilization of the upgrade has resulted in overall reduced demand, energy, and usage for the organization.
“We very much appreciate our partnership with Citizens Electric and their programs which allow us to make significant upgrades to increase energy efficiency across our facilities in Perry Co. These programs not only lower our costs, but help us become a more environmentally sustainable company, which is becoming more important to our customers and consumers and even our current and potential employees.” -Tom Welge, Gilster Mary Lee President
