Three incumbents re-elected at Annual Shareholders Meeting
Perryville, Missouri (June 21, 2024) - Citizens Electric Corporation hosted its Annual Meeting on June 20, 2024. Approximately 27 members and guests participated in this year’s meeting, which included a recap highlighting accomplishments over the last year, the 2023 annual financial report, and the certification of the 2024 Director Election.

Genevieve/St. Francois County District incumbent, William Odneal will retain his seat representing Ste. Genevieve and St. Francois counties. Rex Meyr Sr. won his seat in the South District. In the Central District, Mark Wengert retained his seat representing Perry County in this year’s election.
Bill Odneal, Citizens Electric’s Board President, summarized the cooperative’s performance in 2023. This project establishes a second transmission source into Cape Girardeau County in the southern portion of the territory,” said Odneal. “A second project in the central portion of our service territory, located right in the heart of Perryville was completed in the Fall of 2023 which upgraded a 3.9 mile 69,000 volt transmission line to strengthen capabilities in the area.”
A proposed by-law amendment to Article VI, Section 3 was approved by the membership regarding capital credit issuance and Transfer on Death designation to beneficiaries. Information presented at the 2024 Annual Meeting, including the cooperative’s 2023 Annual Report, is available here.
