Citizens Electric is proud to sponsor local students Janie Porter and Paisley Eyler as participants in the Youth Tour, an educational leadership program that allows high school students to experience the nation's capital while learning about American history, government, and civic engagement.
During their time in Washington, D.C., Janie and Paisley walked the halls of Congress, met with Missouri's representatives, and gained a firsthand look at how the federal government works. These experiences helped bring classroom lessons to life while encouraging the next generation of community leaders.
Their journey also included visits to many of the nation's most iconic landmarks and historic sites, including Capitol Hill, Mount Vernon, the Washington Monument, and several memorials and museums. Each destination offered new opportunities to learn about the people, places, and events that have shaped our country's history.
As part of the Youth Tour program, the students connected with fellow young leaders from across the United States, building friendships and sharing experiences that will have a lasting impact. The program is designed to inspire leadership, expand perspectives, and encourage active participation in local communities.
Supporting educational opportunities like Youth Tour is one of the many ways Citizens Electric invests in the future of the communities we serve. We are proud to sponsor Janie and Paisley on this incredible journey and congratulate them on representing our community so well. We look forward to seeing how this experience helps shape their future leadership and success.
